David is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Sargasso Capital Limited, a Bermuda-based financial services and international business development firm. Sargasso delivers capital introduction, project finance, corporate structuring, and business development services — primarily to sustainable technology enterprises at late-development or deployment stages.

Education & Early Career

• Born and educated in Hampshire, England
• Masters in Law (Honors), University of Cambridge (1976)
• 10 years with Lloyds Bank in Spain, London, and Brazil, focusing on trade finance and project syndication
• Clients included Shell, BP Minerals, Castrol, Blue Circle, Pilkington, and Sir Alfred McAlpine

Entrepreneurship & Investment

David led GT Management’s expansion in Europe, raising over $750M in capital and founding Bastide Investment Group in 1997. He introduced $400M to Airlie Opportunities Fund and launched Sargasso Capital post-2008 to back clean tech companies in island and emerging markets.

Clean Tech & Global Advisory Work

He has advised biomass, biofuel, and emissions-conversion technology companies, and co-founded Graphitene International (graphene nanomaterials). He’s currently launching a commercial-scale aeroponics urban farm in Bermuda with scalable global ambitions.
